Finding the right therapist to help you with your health needs can feel like a daunting task, especially if you are in a health crisis.

2) Location. Find a health professional that is nearby. This is especially true if your health needs are going to require continued care such as psychotherapy or acupuncture. If you are closer to the health practitioner, you are more likely to follow up on your appointments.

3) Ask for referrals. Do not be shy to ask friends and family for referrals when it comes to seeking the right health provider.

4) Perform a phone screen. Many independent practitioners will spend 10-20 minutes on the phone with you to talk about your unique situation. The health practitioner should be just as invested in making sure that you are the right fit for them as you are.
